We learned this week that Care Coordination Organizations (CCOs) were not included in the One-House budgets restoration in the Targeted Inflationary Increase (TII) (formerly called COLA), but there is still time to make OUR voices heard!  Care Coordination is required and responsible for coordinating Medicaid-funded services that support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) across New York State to live healthy, meaningful lives in their communities.

Care Coordination Organizations were previously included in the state’s budget as an essential part of the I/DD landscape.  Restoring CCOs to the TII will:

– Maintain a stable workforce

– Address rising operational and administrative costs

– Continue delivering essential Care Coordination services that support children and adults with I/DD and their families

Without this restoration, workforce pressures and service instability will continue to grow, directly impacting individuals and families who rely on Care Coordinators as their primary system navigators and threatening continuity of care across the system.
