Important Coronavirus Information – 3/13/20

To Individuals, Families, and Caregivers:

At Person Centered Services, our mission is to connect you and/or your loved one to the care, support and opportunities that maximize your quality of life. To achieve this within the current concerns about the Coronavirus, we want to make sure you are informed about our preventive and responsive actions.

Our priority is the safety of individuals and families we serve as well as our employees. In addition to communicating regularly with Person Centered Services employees about preventative measures and not coming to work when they have flu symptoms, we are also asking all Care Coordinators to reach out to you before any face-to-face meeting to ask a few simple questions regarding your health and recent travel. This is so we can work together to determine how to best support you and your family.

If you are due for a face-to-face meeting with your Care Coordinator you will be hearing from them to have this quick discussion in advance of that meeting. This conversation could go a long way toward preventing the spread of illness in our communities and we appreciate your cooperation.

We want to be sure we can protect, serve and support you. Our Care Coordinators are here to assist you with measures to prevent contracting and spreading the virus, such as effective handwashing and avoiding others who are sick. Your Care Coordinators will also be reaching out to you determine how they can help you during this uncertain time, including whether individuals and families are prepared for different possible scenarios.

Person Centered Services is monitoring the situation closely, including working with the New York State Department of Health and Office for People With Developmental Disabilities to determine if there will be any changes to services you receive.

Please feel free to reach out to your Care Coordinator or your health care provider with any questions.

Thank you,

Bridget Bartolone
Chief Executive Officer
